My family includes my husband, Matt, my daughter, Emily, and a kitten named Pixie. We live in Round Rock, TX, just outside of Austin and have lived here for a decade now. When I first started as a demonstrator for Stampin’ Up!, I had no clue where it would lead. I was working full time as a paramedic for the City of Austin and then we found out that we were going to have a little girl, and instantly, 24 hour shifts no longer worked for us.
I started stamping 12 years ago when we were living in Lubbock, TX (go Tech!) and I did it for two reasons. First, I have always wanted to be crafty and artistic. I have tried everything and when I made my first card, I was in heaven! Finally, a art that even I could do. Second, I needed something to de-stress. I worked a minimum of 72 hours a week in Lubbock and when I got home, I needed to unwind. So I would stamp. I would make cards for everyone I could think of. It was great! I could physically feel the difference in my shoulders and back as work dissappeared and my focus shifted to the friend or family member I was stamping a card for.
Fast forward to now, and I am a full time demonstrator, loving what I do. I get to teach people how much fun stamping can be. Rather than just stamping for my friends and family, I teach others how to do the same. It is very fun and very rewarding. There are great perks with what I do. One of my favorite things is helping other demonstrators in my group reach their goals and achieve more than they thought possible. I have everyone from anesthesiologists to stay at home moms in my group and we have the best time working together.
Recently I began more online aspects of being a demonstrator. I now offer online classes after many begged me to do that, so you can take my classes wherever you may live. And that is something else that makes me love what I do, it is limitless!!! I get to be crafty in all different areas!
God has blessed us with a wonderful family and a wonderful work opportunity that keeps me home with my family! I am grateful to everyone that reads my blog, comes to my classes or is part of my online world!
And why polka dots? My entire life, I have loved polka dots, I love how upbeat they are. Polka dots are never boring or dull, the jazz up everything and put a smile on my face!
