How to Pick Your Color Combinations

One of my favorite tools is our Color Coach.  In art class (many moons ago) I learned about color wheels.  And that would not work for me now, since I see things in Stampin' Up! colors.  So that is why I LOVE this fun tool.  This is a fun way to find color combinations  - and if you are ever in a color rut, this is the best way to get out of it!

This wheel is super easy to use.  Simply pick your main color and spin the wheel until the arrow points to it.  Then the top three colors are the coordinating colors. 

So on this one, Glorious Green is our main color.  And the coordinating ones are Brilliant Blue, Summer Sun and Rose Red. 
 

Also on the color wheel, it lists the color's complementary Colors.  Use the complimentary color to give a high-energy look to your project.

So I usually like to pick two of the coordinating colors and add a neutral to it.  Then I can use the other coordinating color and complementary color as a technique, such as watercoloring.  Makes your project planning QUICK and EASY!  Stay tuned for project using this colors later this week!

I love this color combination also!  This is fun for Spring and Summer.  I also like this combo for kids cards, bright and fun!

It is our Real Red, Brilliant Blue and So Saffron.

Favorite Color Combinations

One of the many questions that I get asked is about color combinations.  And I have many favorite color combos.

My favorite colors definitely change with the season.  I switch from color family to color family!  This is an odd color combination that I love!

It is Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Taken with Teal.  As I scrapbook all my fall pictures, this is a great combo.

Check out this Card!

Raspberry Tart paper is one of my favorite papers - and one of the favorites of my clients!  This paper has been ordered more than any other out of catalog!  I love how much you can do with this fun paper.
